Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 2:20pm and 4:15pm. There were 2 rooms observed with a total of 67 children with 5 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed socializing, eating snack, playing games in the school gym and being picked up by their parents. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: Based on interview, staff records did not contain all required information.
Evidence: Emergency contact information was not available for Staff #3 or Staff #4. Staff #1 confirmed that they had not been trained on how to find emergency contact information for staff on the programs application system.Plan of Correction: I'll talk to my specialist about getting emergency contact information for all staff uploaded.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-G Description: Based on a review of medication and interview, medication was not labeled with children's names.
Evidence: Emergency medication was observed in a zip lock bag and was not labeled with a child's name. Staff #1 confirmed that the medication was for Child #2.Plan of Correction: I'll correct it today.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-F Description: Based on observation, requirements were not met when snacks were provided by the center.
Evidence: The children were observed eating a snack served by the center. There is no snack menu posted.Plan of Correction: I'll print and post it.
