An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 9:15 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m. with the director. There were 48 children in care ages 5 months through 5 years old under the care and supervision of 10 staff. Children were observed engaged in a variety of activities including centers for drawing, pretend play, and blocks. Infants were observed having play time on the floor and sleeping. Toddlers were observed during outdoor play. Classrooms and materials were observed. The outdoor play areas and playgrounds were observed.
Six staff records, six children's records and five medications and authorizations were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on review of staff records, the center did not obtain tuberculosis (TB) screenings or test results before staff came in contact with children or TB documentation that was completed no later than 30 days before employment.
