An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today with the director, who was present with 14 children and 2 staff. The ages of the children were from 2 to 4 years. The children were in the middle of lunch, which consisted of beef lasagna, peas, peaches and milk. The ages of the children were from 2 to 4 years. The playground was inspected today as well as 3 staff files and four children's files were reviewed today.
There were no medication on site.
The fire inspection was dated 10/13/21 and the health inspection was dated 10/7/21.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-2 Description: Based on a review of 4 staff files, it was determined that one staff did not have a fingerprint background check on file prior to employment.
Evidence:
Staff A was hired on 6/13/22, the fingerprint background check was not obtained until 6/15/22.Plan of Correction: The background check arrived on 6/15/22. We will remember not to hire staff prior to receipt of the fingerprint background check.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that for each group of children, the center did not maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
Evidence:
There was no attendance maintained in the 3 classrooms ( the blue room, the big room and the green room). There were 14 children present in total.Plan of Correction: I will retrain staff on the need for keeping on top of attendance. This violation was corrected during the inspection,
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-530-C Description: Based on interview, observation and a review of recordkeeping, it was determined that there was not at least two staff members present who had CPR certification.
Evidence:
Staff B was the only person on site that had obtained CPR certification.Plan of Correction: We will make sure at least two staff and CPR certified and that there is staff in each group of children that are first aid and CPR certified.
