22.1 BACKGROUND CHECKS CODE; CARBON MONOXIDE

A renewal inspection was conducted on July 18, 2022. There were four children present with four staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and three staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.058 Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, facility did not ensure that each building that was built before 2015 ad that house a day program that is licensed and serves preschool-age children shall be equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.
Evidence: The center director confirmed they do not have a carbon monoxide detector.Plan of Correction: A carbon monoxide detector will be purchased and installed tomorrow.
