Provided consultation on:
1) Ensuring that crib mattresses are at their lowest point if infants are able to sit up and/or stand independently
2) Standard 40M: The center shall maintain a current, written list of all children?s allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions; the list is to be kept confidential and updated when children are enrolled/disenrolled
3) Standard 210 Program leader qualifications: program leaders (lead staff) shall be at least 18 years old, have fulfilled a high school program completion and have the required education/experience as outlined in the standards which could include six months of programmatic experience and 24 hours of training related to the care of children within six months of being promoted or one month following the promotion. Documentation of all requirements should be in staff files.
4) Standard 560F: When centers choose to provide meals or snacks, they shall follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the USDA
5) Ensuring that all CPR certifications include a hands-on component. Some organizations that provide a hands-on component include: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, and National Safety Council.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:00 am ? 2:00 pm with the director and staff. There were 33 children, ranging from five months to five years of age, present with nine staff supervising. Children were observed playing in centers, listening to stories and eating lunch. Lunch served today: turkey and cheese sandwiches on whole grain bread, oranges, bananas and milk. Four children's records and four staff records were reviewed and in compliance. It was reported that there was no medication on site. The emergency drill log, daily attendance, written allergy list, and menu were all reviewed.
Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 4:00pm on Wednesday, 7/27/2022. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to ensure that all handwashing procedures were followed as required. Evidence: In the infant room, staff changed a baby's diaper and set them on the floor to play, without washing the child's hands afterwards. In the PreK/JK room, not all children washed their hands after eating lunch. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
