Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on July 21, 2022. There were eleven children present with two staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and two staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description: Based on review, facility did not ensure 1 of 2 staff have a completed central registry search within 30 days of beginning employment.

Evidence: The record for staff #2 (start date of employment May 11, 2022) did not have a completed central registry search.

Description: Based on observation, facility did not ensure hazardous chemicals are kept locked.

Evidence: Two hand sanitizers labeled warnings/caution and Keep out of Reach of Children were stored on a cabinet approximately 3? high in the room where children were present

Description: Based on observation, facility did not ensure first aid kits are easily accessible to staff but not to children.

Evidence: A first aid kit was stored on a cabinet approximately 3? high and a second kit was stored on the bottom shelf of a rolling cart with the water cooler. Both first aid kits were within reach of children.

Description: Based on observation, facility did not ensure tables are sanitized before and after each use for feeding.

Evidence: Children were observed eating their lunch at individual desks. Staff were observed spraying desks with soap water solution and then wiping the desk top with a disinfecting wipe after children finished eating. The surface was not sprayed or dipped into the disinfectant solution and allowed to air dry for at least two minutes.
