An unannounced health and safety inspection was conducted on Monday, July 25, 2022, to determine the center's compliance with subsidy standards. The inspection began at 10:01 AM and concluded at 12:00 PM. The census for today's inspection consisted of 32 children in care and 7 staff supervising. During the tour, the inspector observed the children participating in circle time, playing with infant toys, playing on the playground and interacting with peers and staff. The inspector observed all 5 classrooms, playground, kitchen, and restrooms. The classrooms are equipped with age and stage-appropriate materials. The center's first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The required postings were inspected and found to be in compliance. Liability insurance, health inspection, and drills were all in compliance. There were three children's and three staff records reviewed.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
