Reviewed the USDA requirements for meals served to the children.
- Comments:
-
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 102 children in care with a total of 20 staff assigned to their direct supervision. The children were engaged in age-appropriate classroom Montessori activities, enjoying gross motor play in the large room, and preparing for lunch. The children who ordered lunch today were served either chicken nuggets with mixed vegetables, or cheese ravioli with tomato sauce.
The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of emergency preparedness, background checks, health information, children's records, staff records, the physical plant, programming, caregiver training, and nutrition.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on a review of staff health information, it was determined that two staff members did not submit documentation of a negative TB test dated within 30 days prior to employment.
Evidence:
1- The date of hire for Staff B was 3/29/22. The TB test for this employee is dated 7/4/21.
2 - The date of hire for Staff E was 3/22/22. The TB test for this employee is dated 10/5/21.Plan of Correction: Moving forward all new hires will have to show a TB test dated within 30 days of hire.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on a review of records, one staff record does not include the results of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) screening, prior to employment and completed within the last 30 calendar days.
Evidence:
The TB results on file are dated 1/26/23. (Staff A -DOH: 1/23/23).Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
