Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted Thursday August 18, 2022 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection began at 12:27 PM and concluded at 2:30 PM. The census for today's inspection consisted of 70 children in care and 9 staff supervising. During the tour, the inspector observed the children, napping and watching an educational television show. The inspector observed all 6 classrooms, playground, and restrooms. The classrooms are equipped with age and stage appropriate materials. The center's first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The required postings were inspected and found to be in compliance. Liability insurance, health inspection, and drills were all in compliance. There were three children's and three staff records reviewed. There were violations cited during this inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70
Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure that staff records contain written information to demonstrate that the individual possesses the education and experience required by the job position. Evidence: The records for staff #3 (date of hire: 6/4/21) and staff # 5 (date of hire: 1/7/2022) do not contain documentation to demonstrate that they possess the education and/or experience required for the program leader position.

Plan of Correction: Going forward we will be sure to include transcripts and or degree/diploma in staff files.
