Be sure to discuss with staff the storage of cleaning items.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:10am-11:30am. There were 35 children directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, children's medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing outside, and in structured activity. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Please call with questions 703 479-4679
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on record review, it was determined the program did not obtain up to date documentation of negative TB Screening from new employees.
1. 3 New staff member files were reviewed and each one had TB Screening documentation that was conducted well past 30 days before employment:
Staff Member 1 - hired July 5, 2022 had negative TB documentation from June, 2021;
Staff member 2 - hired June 5, 2022 had negative TB documentation from April 6 , 2022;
Staff member 3 -hired July 11, 2022 had negative TB documentation from November 15, 2021.
Plan of Correction: We will check all files for staff hired recently and ensure negative TB documentation meets the within 30 days before requirement.
