Discussion of known allergies, food intolerances, and allergy action plans. Further discussion on the Virginia Pre-Service training and a reminder that this is an annual training for all staff.

Comments:
This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 08/31/2022, between the hours of 10 am to 12 pm. There were 22 children present, with 5 staff supervising across 4 separate classrooms. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with an applicable standards, code, and/or law. The Violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-B
Description: Based on review, 1 of 8 staff files indicated that within the first 90 days of employment a staff person (who work directly with children) did not complete the 10 hours of the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection a certificate of completion for the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care staff was not available for Staff #8.
2. The start date for Staff #8 was listed as - 04/04/2022.

Plan of Correction: This training will be completed.
