Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on September 1, 2022 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection begin at 10:20 AM and concluded at 12:50 PM. The director was present for the inspection. During the tour, the inspector observed children participating in circle time, eating a snack, playing with various materials, and playing outside. The inspector observed 7 classrooms, playgrounds, 2 buses, and restrooms. The center's first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The required postings were inspected and found to be in compliance. Liability insurance, health inspection, and drills were all in compliance. There were five children's records and five staff records reviewed. Violations were cited during this inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not maintain complete children's records. Evidence: 1. Child #2 and Child # 4 were missing work phone number and place of employment of each parent. 2. Child # 2?s file did not have the name and phone number of the physician documented.

Plan of Correction: Will speak with the parents to complete child?s application.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Unsafe conditions shall include, but not be limited to, splintered, cracked or otherwise deteriorating wood; chipped or peeling paint; visible cracks, bending or warping, rusting or breakage of any equipment; head entrapment hazards; and protruding nails, bolts or other components that could entangle clothing or snag skin. Evidence: In the restroom located in the four year old classroom the sink is operable as the water faucet is broken.

Plan of Correction: Contact maintenance to repair sink knob.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. In the four year old classroom, there was a bottle of peroxide cleaner and bleach water stored on the counter. 2. In the school age room there was a can of Ajax cleaner and bleach water stored on top of a shelf.

Plan of Correction: Director will go around to each classroom to make sure all cabinets are locked. Also provide each class with a key if one is not available.

Description: Based on observation of the programming space, some required posting was not posted. Evidence: The center failed to post their most recent inspection. Inspection posted for 9/15/2021. Last inspection was 4/26/2022

Plan of Correction: Inspection will be printed and posted.
