Technical Assistance:
Discussed resilent surfacing, orientaiton requirements and documentation , rest time and cots and mats, age appropriate equipment and COVID-19 guidance.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on August 30, 2022 from approximately 12:40 pm-2:10pm and records were reviewed remotley. There were 40 children present at this time with 10 staff members. Additional staff was on site for administrative and support services. Children were observed . Four staff records and Four children records were reviewed during the inspection. Licensing Inspector reviewed indoor areas,
supervision, activities, equipment, medication procedures, emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drill documentation, emergency procedures and required posting.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A
Description: Based on record review, the licensee did not ensure for each group of children , the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

Evidence:

In the School Age group there was 16 children and only 14 children were documented on the written record of daily attendance.

Plan of Correction: Retrained all staff about moving a child to another classroom and when the child leave and comeback they are to document it.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-380-A
Description: Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure there is a posted daily schedule that allows for flexibility as children's needs require.

Evidence:
In the toddler room, there was not a daily schedule posted.

Plan of Correction: The center director posted daily schedule immediatly after the inspeciton.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure disposable diapers shall be disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot-operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.

Evidence:
During the inspection, the diaper pale in the infant classroom was broken and they were unable to use it unless they picked the lid up off the diapering pale.

Plan of Correction: The center director bought a new diaper pale and sommunicate to staff to let the director know if the diaper pale is broken or not functioning right.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G
Description: Based on staff interview and observation, the licensee did not ensure the food container shall be clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.

Evidence: Staff confirmed that the food containers were not clearly dated.

Plan of Correction: The center will have a staff member at the front door to label child 's food with name and date.
