A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was initiated on September 9, 2022 from 11:15am to 1:45pm. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental Inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were reviewed with the site assistant director and center director at the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-2 Description: Based on record review and interview, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure that staff have current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 3 (date of hire 5/27/22) does not have CPR and First Aid training and no certificate is in their record.
2. Staff #5 (date of hire 5/30/22) does not have CPR and First Aid training and no certificate is in their record.
3. Staff #1 confirmed that Staff #3 and Staff #5 do not have a CPR and First Aid certificate to their record.Plan of Correction: The vendor responded with the following: Staff #1 will schedule CPR and First Aid training for staff members.
