A monitoring inspection was conducted on 09/12/2022. There were 101 children present and 14 staff. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 3 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on a record review the center did not have documentation of having an annual fire inspection.
Evidence:
The last documented fire inspection of the center was dated 07/29/2021.Plan of Correction: On 9/22/2022 management again contacted the Fire Prevention Bureau to follow up on our visit. We are expected to have a visit within 30 days. Going forward, Management will ensure follow up with agencies to ensure their inspections are timely.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. In the preschool room there was peeling paint on the wall border around the classroom.
2. There was a pooling water on top of the tarp that covered the pool on the property and rusted hammer on top of the pool storage shed.Plan of Correction: This will be corrected by 10/12/2022. Pool are and tools were locked gated and out of the reach of children but will also be corrected by 10/12/2022. Staff and management will do daily inspections to ensure environments are safe and will report any deficiencies within 24 hours. Management and safety captain will do periodic walk throughs to ensure compliance.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-580-B Description: Based on observation, record review and interview the center did not ensure all vehicles used by the center met all requirements.
Evidence:
One of the center's van's had an expired inspection sticker of 08/22. The director had the stickers, however did not put them on the vehicle. The director confirmed the van has been in use 08/31/2022 - 09/12/2022.Plan of Correction: Management placed stickers on the bus while inspector here on 9/12/2022. Going Forward, Management will update bus info/ inspections as soon as new documentation arrives. Bus drivers will inspect buses daily to ensure compliance.
