An unannounced inspection was initiated on 9/7/2022 and completed on 9/28/2022 in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing department on 8/30/2022 and 9/9/2022 regarding allegations of staffing and supervision, physical plant, attendance and record keeping, and nutrition and food services. On 9/7/2022, the inspector was on site from 11:07 AM to 12:16 PM. Interviews with staff were completed, observations were made in the center, and documentation was reviewed. Additional interviews were conducted remotely.
The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation supports part of the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. See the violation notice for more details.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: 1. The attendance record located in the 3 year old classroom did not contain the written record of daily attendance for two children. 2. The teacher in the 3 year old classroom verified that the names of two child were recorded on the daily attendance record. 3. The daily attendance record located in the school age room, was not updated for the week to reflect the current week?s attendance for the two children in attendance on 9/28/22 who attend school virtually. Plan of Correction: Will update the raster for room 2 and will provide school age with sign in and out sheet.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: Bleach water and Lysol Disinfectant Spray were kept in an unlocked box. Plan of Correction: Will get a key for the cleaning products
