Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on November 4, 2022. There were 31 children present, with 13 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed playing on the playground, participating in a gym class and table top activities. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4
Description: Based on review of staff and board of directors records, a copy of results of a criminal history and child abuse and neglect registry form any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years was not obtained.
Evidence
Out of state background checks for board of director #1 was not obtained from the a state they resided in the previous five years.

Plan of Correction: We will submit the missing out of state background checks for make sure to always to the out of state background checks for anyone that has lived out of state the previous five years. I will send the results to our inspector when received.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas of the center are not being maintained in a clean, sage condition.
Evidence
Peeling and chipped paint was observed in the stairwell hallway and along the lower right wall in the 2's classroom.

Plan of Correction: We will cover the peeling paint or repaint the area.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence
Hazardous cleaning materials were observed in the unlocked hallway closet., making the hazardous materials accessible to the children.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection, we will make sure the closet is locked at all times.
