A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on November 10, 2022 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. This on-site visit was conducted from 3:30 p.m. through 4:50 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 45 children and 5 staff supervising. Five children records and five staff records were reviewed and updated.
A licensing code compliance inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Areas of non-compliance may be found on the violation notice. Please complete your plan of correction within 5 business days and return to the licensing inspector.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F Description: Based on record review the center failed to have one staff member complete 16 hours of annual training to include the departments health and safety course update.
Evidence:
1. Five staff records were reviewed and updated.
2. Staff #2 and Staff #5 had not completed the departments 3 hour health and safety update.
3. Staff #2 completed the required 10 hours of health and safety training on 12/22/2020.
4. Staff #5 completed the required 10 hours of health and safety training on 11/29/2020.
5. The director confirmed the 3 hour update had not be completed for Staff #3 and Staff #5.Plan of Correction: Staff #2 and staff #5 have started the DSS Virginia Health & Safety update training and will complete the training by December 1st. We have documented the required update training for staff?s annual review and completion.
