An in-person mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on November 18, 2022 from 11:10am until 1:20pm. There were 64 children in care with 11 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Children were observed eating lunch, playing outside, and reading quietly. Infants were observed sleeping and eating. A total of 5 child records and 6 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-B Description: Based on record review, staff did not complete orientation training within 7 days of assuming job responsibilities.
Evidence: Staff 1 did not complete staff orientation. (Staff 1, DOH 9/13/2022)Plan of Correction: Orientation will be conducted and documented.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-D Description: Based on interview the center did not implement a monthly evacuation drill.
Evidence: Staff stated an evacuation drill was not conducted in September.Plan of Correction: Drills have been conducted every month except for September. We will ensure all drills are conducted going forward.
