Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the director on December 1, 2022 beginning at 11:40 AM and ending at 2:53 PM. There were 67 school age children in the direct care of 10 staff members. The older children were observed sleeping or laying quietly on cots during nap time. There two infants were observed sleeping in cribs. Five children?s records and
determined to be in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and battery-operated radio were reviewed and in
compliance. Seven medications were reviewed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was documented as 11/23/2022. The most recent shelter in place drill was documented as 7/18/2022. The most recent health inspection was dated 5/31/2022. The most recent fire inspection was dated 7/25/2022.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the facility staff did not ensure that all of the diapering surfaces were nonabsorbent. Evidence: The changing pads in the toddlers and 2 year old classrooms had cracks and tears making them absorbent.

Plan of Correction: The director ordered new diapering pads before the inspection was concluded. The diapering pads were replaced the same day as the inspection.
