Discussion of those staff observed last school year who are now used in a substitute capacity.

This monitoring inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 12/14/2022, between the hours of 10 am to 12:30 pm. There were 5 children present, ranging from infant to preschool-age, with 3 staff supervising, across 3 separate classrooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-210-A Description: Based on review, 1 of 5 staff files indicated that a staff person did not have the documentation on file to show that they meet at least one of the qualifications for the lead position.
Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection, educational transcripts for Staff #2 were not available for review.
2. The resume for Staff #2 did not provide needed additional details for work experience shown.Plan of Correction: Transcripts and/or resume will be completed and placed on file.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Cleaning supplies observed in an unlocked cabinet.
Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (12/15/2022), cleaning supplies were observed being stored in an upper unlocked cabinet in the Toddler room. There was one child with one teacher at the time of observation involved in an art activity.
2. The cleaning supplies were not in use at the time of observation.Plan of Correction: Corrected on the date of inspection. The staff person locked this cabinet.
