A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/06/2022 and concluded on 12/06/2022. There were 40 children present with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records, 3 medication authorizations and 5 staff records were reviewed/updated.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on review of children's medication authorization, it was determined there was not a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
Evidence:
1. The record for Child 2M contains documentation that the child has a food allergy. There is not a food allergy action plan in the child's records or with the medication authorization.
2. Administration verified that there is not an allergy action plan for Child 2M.Plan of Correction: Director has contacted the parent's to get them to have the child's doctor to complete an allergy action plan. The parent's will bring the allergy action plan to the center once they have it.
