Technical Assistance:
Discussed with director about resilet surfacing on the infant and toddler playground; Pre-K classroom boys bathroom storage and toy cleaning buckets with soap and water and santizer on the shelf.

Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated on 12/20/2022 and concluded on 12/29/2022. There were 73 children present with 14 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not esure areas of equipment of the center , inside and outside shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence:
Outside on the School Age/Preschool playground, there was black peeling paint flaking off from multiple parts of the fence.

Plan of Correction: A facility work order was placed to rectify this. Also notes in in playground check list.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation , the licensee did not ensure hazordous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children .

Evidence:
In the School Age classroom, there was a cabinet unlocked over the sink that had multiple chemicals.

Plan of Correction: Cabinet was locked immedialtey during the inspection stadd was retrained on storage of hazardous substances.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-A
Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure when a child is placed in an infant seat or high chair, the protective belt was fastened securely.

Evidence:

In the infant room, Staff #1 was feeding child#1 in the high chair with out a belt fastened.
Staff #5 confirmed the belt was not fastended.

Plan of Correction: Child was immediatley fastened during the inspection. Staff was re-trained on Infant feeding procedures as well.
