22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 8/10/17. A violation notice was completed regarding the one violation found during today's inspection. The children have been active with group, large motor skill play and free play. Lunch, snack, hand washing and table sanitizing was also observed. Children and staff records were reviewed for compliance. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call. Inspection began: 10:00 am and ended 4:30 pm.

Description: Based on review of staff records on 8/10/17 the center failed to request a background check within the set time frames. Evidence: 1. Staff #3 has a hire date of 6/7/17, the central registry check was mailed 7/19/17. The registry check was not mailed within the seven calendar day time frame.

Plan of Correction: The CPS background has been mailed 7/19/17, if it is not received by 8/19/17 the director will call and check on this.
