An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 10:00am-11:15am. There were a total of 27 children with five staff members present. Children were observed during handwashing, bathroom breaks, engaged in group activities and painting. A selection of staff and children records, and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on record review, each staff member did not submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff #2 (Start date-01/17/2023) had documentation of a tuberculosis screening that was not within 30 calendar days of the date of employment. The tuberculosis screening was dated 08/19/2022.Plan of Correction: Moving forward, new staff will have a negative tuberculosis screening 30 calendar days of the date of employment.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G Description: Based on observation, food brought from home was not clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.
Evidence:
1. Twelve lunch boxes containing food brought from home were not dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.Plan of Correction: Management labeled and dated each lunch box with the date and child's name. An email was sent out to the parents to label and date food brought from home each day. If the parent has not labeled the lunch box, staff will label and date.
