Comments:
This annual subsidy inspection was conducted by the inspector using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency declared by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
.
-An annual subsidy inspection was initiated on (06/29/2020), at which time the vendor was contacted by (telephone) to initiate the inspection,video conference was used to conduct inspection and record review and concluded on (6/29/2020).

The vendor reported there were (3) children in care and (0) children living in the home under the age of 12 present with the vendor. The inspector reviewed (3) children?s records and (1) adult/household member records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for
Child Care programs.

-Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-160-B
Description: Based upon record review and interview, the vendor did not maintain a written hard copy of daily attendance that documents arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
Evidence: The vendor did not have written attendance documenting the arrival of the 3 children in care at the time of the inspection. The vendor did not have previous days attendance records and stated that she has not been doing it.

Plan of Correction: I will. Inspector sent sample form.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-380-H
Description: Based upon observation and interview, medication was not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: There was a box of medication sitting on the dining table used by children in the child care area during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: I moved it during the inspection.
