An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted 1/17/2024. There were 36 children directly supervised by 8 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, programming, menus, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, emergency drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were reportedly no medications on site. Children were observed eating snack which consisted of cheese and wheat crackers, playing with hula hoops, coloring, fingerpainting, and engaging in free play. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials for the children. There was an adequate number of CPR/First Aid, Daily Health Observation, and MAT trained staff on site at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure that staff records contained all required information.

Evidence: Staff #2's record (Date of Hire: 1/25/2022) did not contain documentation that two references were checked prior to hire. Staff #3's record (Date of Hire: 12/28/2023) did not contain documentation that the staff member completed orientation training.

Plan of Correction: The completed staff references were stored in Staff #2's file.

The completed orientation training was signed and added to Staff #3's file.

Staff files will undergo an additional compliance check to ensure all required items are in staff files prior to the employee's start date.

Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that disposable diapers are disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot-operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.

Evidence: There was no foot-operated trash can located at the diapering station in the Preschool 1A classroom.

Plan of Correction: The foot-operated trash can was moved to the diapering station on the same day of the inspection.
