An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director and staff from 9:30 am to 10:55 am. Ninteen children were present with 4 staff supervising. The ages of the children ranged from 19 months to 5 years. The Licensing Inspector was able to observe circle time in the Jr-K and two year old classrooms. Two medications and allergy care plans were inspected as well as 5 staff and 6 children's files. Five injury/accident reports were reviewed. The playground was not inspected today due to the inclement weather.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-J-3 Description: Any child for whom emergency medications have been prescribed shall always be in the care of a staff who has Medication Administration Training (MAT). Child # 1 and # 2 had emergency medications on site and there was no staff on site who had MAT at 9:30 am. Both children were onsite at 9:30 am. The one staff with MAT arrived at approximately 9:35 am. Plan of Correction: Lead teacher ( Opener) will get MAT trained to have someone on site during hours of operation.
