An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted today. A total of 70 children with 13 staff providing supervision was observed. In the infant classroom, children were observed at small tables engaged in an art project for Father's Day which involved finger painting. Diapering and hand washing procedures were observed. In the older infant class, children were seated in a circle actively engaged with staff by calling out the names of colors both in English and Spanish. Observation of the Preschool 1 class occurred on the playground. Staff were playing ball catch with one group of children. A second group were on tricycles with another staff. Staff were positioned strategically throughout the playground to ensure appropriate supervision. The classrooms on the second level were decorated with several art projects that children had made recently. A super hero bulletin board included pictures of children's fathers. Each classroom had a family picture board that children are able to refer to. The PreK classroom were busy with workbooks in which children were tracing letters of the alphabet. The class is preparing for graduation. The children's graduation portraits were on display in the stairwell. A total of 4 children's files, all medication onsite, 5 staff files and staff training was reviewed. The previous violations from the last inspection were also reviewed, and corrective actions were verified. This inspection occurred between 10am and 12:15pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
