An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated on 7/8/2024 and completed on 7/16/2024 in response to a self-report received by the licensing office on 7/2/2024 relating to an injury requiring outside medical attention. The inspector reviewed 2 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Though not a part of the original self report, violations that were not reported were found related to Supervision of Children & First aid training and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 7/23/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-340-D Description: In each grouping of children at least one staff member who meets the qualifications of a program leader or program director shall be regularly present. There were 2 staff responsible for a group of 21, 7 & 8-year-old children, and neither staff member met the qualifications of a program lead or program director. Plan of Correction: Staff was given additional training a program manager understands qualifications.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-530-A Description: At least one staff in each classroom or area where children are present shall have current certification in CPR and current certification in First Aid. Staff #1 and Staff #2 were alone with their group of 21, 7 & 8-year-old children. There was no evidence of the completion of CPR or First Aid certifications. Plan of Correction: CPR class scheduled 7/22 & mandatory for staff or they will be off the schedule.
