Technical Assistance:
The inspector reviewed the following with administrative staff:

*Background Check Requirements for staff;
*CDC regulations with emphasis on hand washing, sanitizing, record keeping, injury documentation and annual update of injury prevention plan, emergency practice drills, medication and over-the-counter skin products, requirements for resting & nap, requirements for meal times/USDA guidelines and staff training.
*Requirements for reporting of suspected child abuse has been emailed.

Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An announced on-site initial inspection was initiated on 08/07/2024 and completed on 08/07/2024. The on-site inspection began at 9:30 am and ended at 12:10 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above however, regulations in the areas of staffing & supervision and program & activities could not be determined as the program is not yet operational. There were no children present. The inspector reviewed 4 children's records, 10 staff records and 5 records for board members.

The inspection included:
*Document review;
*Tour of the facility and outdoor play area;
*Interviews;
*Observations, and
*Measurements of the facility and outdoor play area.

The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
