A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on8/13/2024 from 1:10 pm until 3:40 pm. At the time of entrance, 41 children were in care with 7 staff members present. The sample size consisted of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records
A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on record review and interview, the licensee did not ensure that all staff maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care within 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
Five staff records were reviewed.
The records for staff #3 (hired 1/22/2024), staff #4 (hired 4/9/2024) and staff #5 (hired 2/9/2024) did not contain documentation to demonstrate certification in CPR.
The program director confirmed that staff #3, staff #4 and staff #5 were scheduled for an upcoming CPR and First Aid Training but had not yet obtained certification.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.

The record for staff #1 (hired 9/18/2023) and staff #2 (hired 6/6/2022) did not contain documentation of the department's health and safety update course.
