Discussed the requirements relating to children's records which is found under the standard 8VAC20-780-60.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated on 08/19/2024 and completed on 08/20/2024 in response to a self-report received by the licensing office on 08/12/2024 relating to forbidden actions. The inspector reviewed 1 child record and 2 staff records on-site on 08/19/2024. This inspection included document review and interviews.
The information gathered during the inspection for the self repot determined no violations with applicable standards or law concerning forbidden actions.
Though not a part of the original self report, violations were found related to background checks and are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 08/29/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on record review, staff was missing the five year repeat of the fingerprint-based background check through the Central Criminal Records Exchange or the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Evidence:
Staff #1's national fingerprint criminal background check expired in August 2023.Plan of Correction: Current national fingerprint criminal background check was completed in December 2022.
Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years prior to employment.
Evidence:
Staff #1's file did not have a record of out of state child abuse and neglect search results for each state the staff has resided in the preceding five years prior to hire in August of 2019.Plan of Correction: Out of state child abuse and neglect search from Colorado was resent and results are pending.
