An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 8/27/2024 and completed on 8/27/2024, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:59AM and ended at 12:12PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 16 children present and 4 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 3 staff records on-site. This inspection included - document review (i.e. Injury logs, policies and procedures, emergency drill logs, medication administration logs, authorization forms), tour of the facility, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A Description: For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Licensing inspector observed 16 children in care and only 15 children were marked as present on the attendance during the inspection on 8/27/2024. Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure all children are marked present.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Hazardous materials such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Licensing inspector observed an unlocked cabinet in the preschool room with cleaning materials. Children were observed in the area and it was accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure all hazardous substances are locked using a safe locking device.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-380-A Description: There shall be a posted daily schedule that allows for flexibility as children?s needs require. Licensing inspector observed that a daily schedule was not posted in the early toddler room during the inspection on 8/27/2024. Plan of Correction: Provider will post a daily schedule in the early toddler classroom.
