Comments:
An unannounced focused monitoring inspection was conducted on June 13, 2024 from approximately 8:50 AM to 9:55 AM. There were 20 children present in the center, ranging in ages from infant to preschool, with five staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of three child records and one staff record were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-310-G
Description: Based on observation and interview, the center did not ensure that a separate space shall be designated for children who are ill or injured.

Evidence:
Staff #1 reported that a child in care was sick, and parents were called at 8:27 AM to pick up their sick child. Staff A reported that the child was not separated from their class.
