Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-3 Description: The center must request a search of the central registry prior to the employee's first day of employment.
The request for a search of the central registry was submitted two weeks after employment for staff #2.Plan of Correction: Once an individual is hired, they will not start in the classroom with children before a central registry is submitted.
Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: The center is required to obtain background checks from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Staff #1, employed for 3 months, did not have documentation of requesting a central registry check from one state and no documentation of completing an out of state sex offender registry check.Plan of Correction: Moving forward any new hire will have a submitted background check for both in and out of state before their start date.
