Standard 8VAC20-780-370 was discussed with the director/owner. Infants are required to have outdoor time, weather permitting.
It was recommended to the director/owner to make provision to alert any cars that may pass through the parking area where the fenced outdoor play space is located.

An unannounced Initial inspection was conducted on 10/02/2024. The on-site inspection began at 1:30pm and ended at 3:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, are required to be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
1. In the hallway there was a tall locker cabinet that was not secured, posing a potential tipping hazard.
2. There were 10 holes in the dry wall above the 2 water fountains in reach of children.
3. There was an area on the bottom of the backdoor leading to the outside play area that was deteriorated and rusted.Plan of Correction: The director will ensure the locker is secured to the wall, the holes are patched on the wall and the bottom of the door is repaired.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B Description: The diapering area is required to have a nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing shall be used.
The changing pad on the changing table was torn, exposing the inside foam making part of the surface absorbent.Plan of Correction: A new changing pad has already been ordered.
