The 2024 Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Training is a follow-up to the Virginia Preservice Training for Childcare Staff course. This training course is required for all staff that work directly with children in a childcare program (center-based and family day homes) that participates in the Virginia Childcare Subsidy Program (aka subsidy vendors). VDOE Licensing Inspectors will verify that existing subsidy vendors, and their staff who work directly with children to have a certificate of completion for this training.

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI.
