During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 10/11/2024. The on-site inspection began at 3:25pm and ended at 4:35pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 43 children present and 3 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records on-site.
This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A Description: Each center shall maintain and keep at the center a separate record for each child enrolled.
Child #2 did not have a record on file for review during inspection.Plan of Correction: Program will move staff over to support ratio.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-5 Description: The required ratio for school age eligible children up to age 9 years is 1 staff per 18 children.
Staff #1 and #2 was observed supervising 44 children (youngest child 5 years old) from approximately 3:25pm-3:36pm.Plan of Correction: The file for the child was printed and brought to the site.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-I Description: Prescription medication may be administered if the parent has completed a written authorization from a parent or guardian.
The written authorization for Child #1, did not give the center permission to administer the medication on site.Plan of Correction: Program will have parent write permission for YMCA.
