An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/20/2024 and completed on 12/3/2024, as part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 2:30pm and ended at 3:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 21 children present and 1 staff. The inspector reviewed 3children?s records, and 2 staff records on-site and electronically on 11/25/2024 and 12/3/2024.This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, and interviews.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 12/10/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-340-C Description: During the stated hours of operation, there always shall be on the premises when one or more children are present one staff member who qualifies as program lead or director and an immediately available staff member, volunteer or other employee who is at least 16 years of age with direct means for communication between the two of them.
Staff #2 was observed alone supervising twenty-one children while the inspector was onsite. The center did not have another immediately available staff onsite.Plan of Correction: There is a secondary staff member who has a conflicting class schedule. Next semester she will be able to arrive at the site by 2 pm daily. I will have a fill in staff member on site to maintain ratio at all times. I am in the process of hiring another staff member for this site.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-5 Description: The required ratio for children school-age to 9 years is one staff per eighteen children.
Staff #2 was observed alone supervising twenty-one children (youngest child 5 years old) during the inspection.Plan of Correction: I will make sure a secondary staff member is on site with the site director daily. I am in the process of hiring an additional member for this site.
