The following technical assistance was discussed with the assistant director and administrative staff: There shall be at least:
1. Twelve inches of space between the sides and ends of occupied cribs except where they touch the wall; and
2. Thirty inches of space between service sides of occupied cribs and other furniture where that space is the walkway for staff to gain access to any occupied crib.

An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 12/03/2024 as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 12:45pm and ended at 2:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 4 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-440-I Description: Cribs shall be placed where objects outside the crib are not within reach of infants or toddlers.
Three infants were observed sleeping in cribs with one side against the wall where a night light was plugged into the electrical outlet and within reach of the infants.Plan of Correction: The cribs will be rearranged in such a way that the nightlight are not in reach of the infants when they are in the crib.
