Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 12/03/2024. The on-site inspection began at 11:35 a.m. and ended at 1:00 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 21 children present and four staff. The inspector reviewed three children?s records and one new staff record on-site This inspection included document review, and tour of the facility.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five business days from today, which will be the close of business on 12/18/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: The center shall maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.

On 12/03/2024, there was no list of allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions in the two's classroom, the preschool classroom and the prek classroom.

Description: For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

On 12/03/2024 there was no record of written attendance in the two year old class, preschool class and preK class.

Description: Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

In the two's classroom, the cord cover on the microwave was cracked and exposed the wires inside.
In the large bathroom, there is an approximately two inch long area of exposed drywall above the second sink. The second to the last sink was not operable.

Description: The diapering surface shall be nonabsorbent.

In the diapering area outside the bathrooms, the diapering pad had two cracks in the nonabsorbent cover making it absorbent.
