Technical assistance was provided in the following areas;
Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 1/16/2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:30am and ended at 1:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. There were 35 children present and 9 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 1/29/25. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-130-E Description: The center shall obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Repeat Violation
Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Unsafe conditions shall include, but not be limited to, splintered, cracked or otherwise deteriorating wood; chipped or peeling paint; visible cracks, bending or warping, rusting or breakage of any equipment; head entrapment hazards; and protruding nails, bolts or other components that could entangle clothing or snag skin. On the playground six of the spikes anchoring the playground border were lifted 1 to 1/1/2 inches posing an entanglement and trip hazard. There were two chairs that had cracked seats. In the classrooms there was a broken ceiling light cover and peeling contact paper on the walls. In an infant classroom there was yellow contact paper peeing off the wall next to a crib. There were three cribs assigned to individual children in care with loose sheets that posed a suffocation hazard.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
