Technical Assistance was provided and licensing standards were reviewed regarding nonabsorbent surfaces.

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on February 6, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 11:30am and ended at 2:15pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 64 children present and 15 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 6 staff records on-site on February 11, 2025. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a safe and operable condition. Two cots, with children laying on them, had cracks to the side of the handle and shredding string which poses as an injury hazard. There were two toilets with exposed rusted screws to the side of them in the boy?s restroom. Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: New cots will be provided to the children and additional cots from other Childcare Network centers will be sent to this location for replacement. For the toilets, protective screw covers will be placed on top of the screws.
