During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted February 5, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 12:30 p.m. and ended at 4:20 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 107 children present and 19 staff. The inspector reviewed 10 children?s records and 10 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Hazardous substances must be in a locked place that prevents access by children. In the infant classroom, the cleaning solution and sanitizing solution were in an unlocked lower cabinet under the changing table. The lock was broken. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection. The cleaners were moved to an upper, locked cabinet.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-440-E Description: There shall be at least 12 inches of space between occupied cribs. In the infant B room, occupied cribs were not at least 12 inches apart. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection. The occupied cribs were moved at least 12 inches apart.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-E Description: The center's procedures for administering medication shall include duration of the parent's authorization for medication, provided that it shall expire or be renewed after 10 work days. Long-term prescription drug use and over-the- counter medication may be allowed with written authorization from the child's physician and parent. The parent did not renew the written authorization for one medication for Child A every ten working days and physician authorization was not obtained. The medication was still on site after 2 months.
The center's procedures shall also include methods to prevent use of outdated medication. The medication for Child A expired 6 months ago.Plan of Correction: The medication will be returned to the parent.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-A Description: When a child is placed in an infant seat or high chair, the protective belt shall be fastened securely. One child in the Infant B classroom was not belted into the feeding chair. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. The child was strapped into the chair.
