Licensing standards regarding nutrition and food services, medication and staff training were discussed with the director.

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on February 27, 2025 and completed on February 27, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:30am on and ended at 1:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 82 children present and 13 staff. The inspector reviewed 11 children?s records and 12 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on (3/20/2025). A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: The following staff records shall be kept for each staff person: documentation that two or more
references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment. The references for staff #1 were obtained two months after employment.Plan of Correction: Staff member maintains our website and social media. We spoke with many references before hiring. We reached back out to 2 references for their file.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a safe condition. The following physical plant safety issues were observed. Multiple classrooms had peeling paint on the walls within reach of children. Plan of Correction: Areas with peeling paint were sanded and painted.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water after toileting. Child #1 and Child #2 in the 3 year old classroom did not wash their hands after using the restroom. Plan of Correction: All staff were reminded to visually confirm that students have washed their hands. A follow up observation was completed.
