Technical Assistance:
1. The subsidy program requires written daily attendance, as it occurs, with arrival + departure times of each child. This has been cited previously as an area of non-compliance. The vendor has attendance forms.
2. Child enrollment records should be completed fully, 100%. If there is no information to write in a given space, the parent should write "N/A."

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the home was not conducted at this time.

An unannounced subsidy inspection was initiated at 9:35am on 9/30/20. The vendor was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection, and emailed a list of items required to complete the inspection. There were 3 children present = 2 points with the vendor. Ratios were in compliance. The vendor stated that all children are doing virtual schooling while in her care, and the school schedules dictate the activities each day, and she includes outdoor play time. She provides daily meals for the children. Information gathered during the inspection determined there were areas of non-compliances with applicable standards or laws reviewed. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-160-B
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that a written attendance record for each child documenting the arrival + departure times, as it occurs, has not been maintained. Evidence: The written attendance record submitted by the vendor does not document the times each child arrived + departed daily.

Plan of Correction: The vendor will complete written attendance as required.
