63.2 Child Abuse & Neglect
During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 6/18/2025 and completed on 6/20/2025. The on-site inspection began at 12:00 pm and ended at 2:15 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 41 children present and 6 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 6/30/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A Description: For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. There were 10 children present in the 3's & 4's room but only 9 were marked present on the attendance sheet. Plan of Correction: Director spoke to teacher about this. Reminder them how important attendance is for # counts.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-440-N Description: Toys or objects hung over an infant in a crib and crib gyms that are strung across the crib may not be used for infants over five months of age or infants who are able to push up on their hands and knees. Child #1, eight months old, had soft toys hanging from their crib, where they were sleeping. Plan of Correction: Took the toys off during the inspection. Director spoke to staff in this room & discussed no hanging of toys in crib.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G Description: When food is brought from home, the food container shall be sealed and clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. Of the 6 lunch boxes checked, in the school age room, 4 were not labeled with the child's name and none of them were dated. Plan of Correction: Director talked to the class and posted a note on the classroom wall about dating and names.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-B Description: Bottles shall not be propped or used while the child is in his designated sleeping location. Child #1, eight months old, had their bottle in the crib where they were sleeping. Plan of Correction: On the day of the inspection the director told the staff not to do this, no exception.
