During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Technical Assistance:
The inspector discussed the following with the provider: playground, handwashing, and allergy plan.

Comments:
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 10/06/2025. The on-site inspection began at 11:00 a.m. and ended at 4:45 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 110 children present and 30 staff. The inspector reviewed 10 children?s records and 8 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations, and measurements.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A
Description: For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on 10/06/2025, there were 7 children present in the Toddler 2 room, but 8 were marked present on the attendance record.

Plan of Correction: Staff will document arrival and departure when it happens.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Chipped and peeling paint was observed on the handrail that children use to enter and exit the building from the playground.

Plan of Correction: Maintenance staff will repair

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-L
Description: Medication shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

One infant pain reliever and two children?s pain relievers were located in an unlocked cabinet over the sink in the Toddler 1 room.

Plan of Correction: Medication was locked during the inspection and will remain locked.
