* Discussion that for programs subject to national fingerprint background checks pursuant to ? 22.1-289.035 of the Code of Virginia, VDOE will be unable to continue to cover the cost of national fingerprint background checks beyond December 31, 2025. Effective January 1, 2026, child day programs and family day systems will be responsible for covering the cost of obtaining fingerprint-based background checks. Child day programs and family day systems are encouraged to plan for this change. When preparing for operating costs beyond December 2025, fingerprint fees for employees, applicants, agents, caregivers, approved providers in a family day system, and household members will be approximately $59.00 per individual request. To facilitate system updates and coordination between Fieldprint and OBI, there will be a temporary blackout period for fingerprint appointment availability: December 28?31, 2025, (Sunday through Wednesday). During this time, applicants and providers may still access the scheduling system, but no appointment slots will be available for these dates.
* Discussion that (at the time of inspection) a CDC renewal application has yet to be received. In addition, an Environmental Sanitation Inspection report (from 2025) will also need to be submitted.
* Discussion of obtaining college transcripts of staff when their submitted degree was from a field that is not "child related."
